Oskaloosa 7th Grade Volleyball Wins At Newton

The 7th grade volleyball teams were in action on Tuesday night as they traveled to Newton. All four teams would find success and come away with 4 wins. The girls would win 17 of the 20 sets against the Cardinals.

The A team would come out hot and take the first 2 sets with scores of 15-5 and 15-6, but Newton would battle back in the next 2 with scores of 4-15 and 8-15. The girls would find their footing again and take the last set 15-6 for the win. The team was led by Camryn Schultz with 10 aces and 3 kills followed by Lydia VanVelduizen with 6 aces and 2 kills, Bailee Smith with 6 aces and 2 kills, Kassie Johnson with 2 kills, Addison McKain with 1 ace and 1 kill and Lily Bonnett with 2 kills.

The B team would be dominate winning all 5 games with scores of 15-8, 15-3, 15-9, 15-5 and 15-7. The team was led by Kenzi Meyers with 14 aces followed by Asia Thompson, Olivia Swanson and Reese Milburn-VanWyk with 3 each, Hayley VanArkel with 2 and Kylie Owens with 1.

The C would continue to dominance with 5 wins with scores of 15-11, 15-8, 15-11, 17-15, and 15-9. The team was led by Zoie Biddle with 11 aces followed by Maci Huebschen with 7, Mia Shilling with 2, Cailey VanHemert with 2 and Taylor Six with 1 ace.

The D team would take 4 out of 5 with another dominating performance with scores of 15-12, 15-12, 15-11, 15-10 and 12-15. The team was led by Grace Glover with 6 aces followed by Kaleigh Braden and Lilly Heckenburg with 3 each, Amari Trujillo with 2 and Brianna Davis with 1.

The girls will wrap up their season next with games Monday and Tuesday. On Monday, the girls will host Pella and on Tuesday will travel to Knoxville for their last game of the season.
