Oskaloosa 7th Grade Football Ties in Thrilling Match Against PCM
In a game filled with excitement and back-and-forth action, the Oskaloosa 7th grade football team fought to a 26-26 tie against the Prairie City Monroe (PCM) Mustangs on Tuesday night. The hard-fought contest came down to the final seconds, with both teams displaying determination and resilience.
PCM struck first, taking an early lead, but Oskaloosa quickly responded with a 53-yard touchdown run from Christian Davis. At halftime, PCM led 14-12, with Oskaloosa’s second touchdown coming from a 7-yard run by Beau Pierson.
In the second half, PCM capitalized on an Osky fumble and added another score, but failed on the two-point conversion, extending their lead to 20-12. Oskaloosa showed their fighting spirit once again as Davis scored his second touchdown of the night, with Pierson adding the two-point conversion to tie the game at 20-20.
PCM took a six-point lead in the fourth quarter, but Oskaloosa answered with a 26-yard touchdown run by Brody Herny, leveling the score at 26-26. The Osky defense made a crucial stop late in the game, giving the offense one more chance to pull ahead. Andrew Pilcher broke a long run to put the Indians in the red zone, but the PCM defense held firm, and the game ended in a tie.
John Rohr anchored the defense, leading the team in tackles and recording multiple sacks. The result brings Oskaloosa’s record to 1-0-1. The team will next face the Pella Dutch on Tuesday, October 1st.
