One Oskaloosa Family Shares Multiple State Titles
by Jamie Brockman
Growing up, every athlete wants to be the best and win championships; however it takes a lot of hard work and dedication from coaches, parents and the athlete.
Oskaloosa High School has won state championships in five team sports in school history. Boys golf and boys Cross Country have each enjoyed big success over the years at the state level. Boys Golf claimed titles in 1975, 1985, 1993 and 1994 with runner up finishes in 1948 and 1979. Cross Country won in 1935, 1936, 1938 and 1957.
Other State Champion teams include Football in 1996, Wrestling in 2003, Softball in 2016 and Boys Basketball in 2019. There have also been
numerous individual state champions in respective sports over the years. As difficult as it is to win a state championship, one family in Oskaloosa has been part of 3 championships. Jamie Brockman talks with Travis Miller (1996 Football), Aubrey Miller (2016 Softball) and Tyler Miller (2019 Basketball).
