OMS XC Competes At State
7 members of the Osky Middle School Cross Country team competed at The Dick Washburn Middle School Statewide Cross Country meet held at Ankeny Centennial High School.
Lane Smith, Joel Pogany and Sabrina Frost all broke into the top 20 in their races! Lane finished 12th in the seventh grade race with a time of 12:42.9 while Joel had a strong finish to move up to 15th also breaking the 13:00 mark with a time of 12:56.3. Sabrina finished 20th in the seventh grade girls race with a time of 15:03.7.
Whitney Steinlage also competed in the seventh grade race finishing 48th over all with her best 2 mile time of the season!! Ella Walter and Kamryn Maddy raced in the eighth grade race finishing 41st and 72nd respectively. This was Kam’s fastest 2 mile race of the season!
Blake Frame raced in the eighth grade boys race finishing 59th with a time of 13:40.6.
I was very proud of these athletes for stepping up to the challenge of running at the state meet. It has been a great season and I’m looking forward to what will come for these athletes!!
