OMS Wrestling Begins Season

Pella, Iowa – The Osky middle school wrestling team opened up its season last night in Pella against Newton, Knoxville, and the Dutch. The Indians had a fantastic first meet against teams that were already well into their 2012 season. The 7th and 8th graders went 23 and 12 on the night. Chris Miller, Nick Shaffner, and Parker Pose all brought home wins for the team. Callan Tomlin lost a tough first match by 1 point but finished each of his next 3 opponents with pins and ended up 3-1 on the night. Vincent Ramirez, Alex Hanna, Tyler Zickefoose, Josh Diehl, Willis Knox, Kyler Salazaar were all a perfect 3-0 on the night. The coaches are looking forward to watching all of the wrestlers improve as the season progresses and excited to go to South Tama this Thursday to compete in a meet that is sure to have some tough competition.
