OHS Marching Band Wins 4th Annual Marching Dutch Invitational

This past Saturday the Oskaloosa marching band competed at the 4th Annual Marching Dutch Invitational held at Pella High School. The marching band finished 1st in class 3A with a score of 73.5 and 4th overall. Strong soloist performances by Macy Milledge, Riley Berg, Jennifer Akers and Fatima Alvarez helped lead the way. The percussion section also had some great moments and got a very good crowd response during their drum feature. The color guard had some truly wonderful moments as well that added so much to the overall performance. The band has improved greatly over the past year and the staff is so proud of their efforts so far. The marching band will be traveling to Urbandale this Saturday for their second competition of the season. They are scheduled to perform at 7:16 PM.
