OHS Girls Swim Team Breaking Team Records

The Osky Girls Swim Team made the long (very worth it) drive to Keokuk last night to compete against Keokuk and Williamsburg. This was by far our best showing of the season. The girls swam great and were the loudest they have been all season cheering on their teammates. I would like to highlight two freshmen who had outstanding swims last night. Vivian Bolibaugh and Cora Snakenberg at the beginning of the season set the goals of breaking the Oskaloosa Girls Swim Team records in their main events being the 100 backstroke for Vivian and the 100 breaststroke for Cora. This is no easy feat as most of the records are set by swimmers in their senior seasons. The girls have not let that stop them from working hard in and out of the pool to achieve their goals. Last night they both came the closest they have been all season. Vivian swam a 1:08.78, the record is a 1:08.1, and Cora swam a 1:17.69, with the record being a 1:17.66. They are both so close and I see them breaking these records in the very near future, maybe even as soon as our home meet on Thursday!
There were also a ton of other great swims from the girls last you will see below as well as many top 3 finishes.
Medley Relay: 1st place team of Bolibaugh, Snakenberg, Moore, and Lindgren
3rd place team of Cheney, Kanis, Moorman, and Adams.
200 Free: Callie Walters 2nd and Emma Whitt 5th (20 second time drop)
JV 50 Free: Maddy Moorman 1st, Kylie Owens 8th, Aubrey Bowen 10th, and Mariana Arellano 11th
V 50 Free: Vivian Bolibaugh 2nd, Callie Lindgren 4th, and Emma Adams 5th
100 Butterfly: Grace Moore 1st (season best time)
JV 100 Free: Kylie Owens 7th
V 100 Free: Callie Walters 4th, Audree Cheney 5th, and Emma Whitt 7th
200 Free Relay: 3rd team of Walters, Cheney, Moorman, and Lindgren
4th team of Moore, Owens, Kanis, and Whitt
100 Back: Vivian Bolibaugh 1st, Grace Moore 3rd, Emma Adams 5th
100 Breaststroke: Cora Snakenberg 1st and Kenzie Kanis 3rd
400 Free Relay: 2nd place team of Lindgren, Moorman, Cheney, and Adams
