OHS Find Success At State Speech

We had a TOUGH day at state last Saturday (3/11) – the judges were far from generous in their scores. Each student was individually given a rating by three judges then given an overall rating.

We had a good showing of 8 students in 13 events.

Overall division 2 ratings:

Brenna Deffenbaugh – prose
Callie Lindgren – solo musical theater
Myles Strait – improvisation

Overall division 1 ratings:
Payton Snyder – reviewing
Camden Johnson – acting and improvisation
Bri Hunt- after dinner speaking

Straight division 1 ratings:
Ally Nolan – improvisation and solo musical theater
Myles Strait – after dinner speaking
Elliot Nelson – poetry and literary program

And we have three all-state performers who will present at the festival at UNI on March 27:

Elliot Nelson: Literary Program (1st time qualifier)

Ally Nolan: Improvisational Acting (1st time solo qualifier)

Myles Strait: After Dinner Speaking (2nd year qualifier on this event)

It was a GREAT day for Osky speech!
