11:00 am – 12:30 pm
Environmental Learning Center at Caldwell Park
When you walk through the doors at the Environmental Learning Center at 11:00 am on October 23rd for the O.W.L.S. program, you will be smelling the delicious scent of Grubb’s popcorn! Bring a lunch and join us for the October O.W.L.S. from 11:00 am -12:30 pm to learn about the history of popcorn from Grubb’s Popcorn. The Grubb family has a popcorn business right here in Mahaska County. The program will begin at approximately 11:30. And yes….you will be able to sample popcorn!
O.W.L.S. (Older, Wiser, Learning Seniors) is a lunch and learn program with the Mahaska County Conservation that meets monthly and offers an educational program. You don’t necessarily need to be a senior, just an adult that would enjoy learning about the history of popcorn. There is no cost to attend this program.
You can park in the back of the Environmental Learning Center because we will meet in the lower level of the building. The Environmental Learning Center is located Caldwell Park on the east side of Oskaloosa at 2342 Hwy. 92 East. If you have questions, call the Mahaska County Conservation Board at (641)673-9327 Ext 2.
