NM Sweeps Hawks

NEW SHARON – North Mahaska kept their undefeated South Iowa Cedar League season perfect with a win over Lynnville-Sully, 25-12, 25-14 and 25-9. It ran the Warhawk mark to 9-0 on the season.

Natatliya Linder owned the net for North Mahaska recording eight kills and six blocks. NM garnered 12 service aces including five by Sydney Andersen and three by Kayla Readshaw. Linder ended the first set with a strong block and the deciding set on a kill. Readshaw served the final six points including aces on points 23 and 24.

North Mahaska recorded 23 kills in the match to just eight for the Hawks. In addition to the efforts listed above, Abby Van Weelden recorded five kills and three blocks and Regan Grewe had four kills. Carly Lake and Readshaw each had 11 assists. Ally Livezey dug up eight balls and Grewe was credited with five.

Terriyah Carter led LS in kills with four.

North Mahaska, 12-1, heads to Colfax to take on the Tigerhawks in another South Iowa Cedar League match Monday, Sept. 23.
