NM Boys 11th at Belle Plaine

BELLE PLAINE – North Mahaska finally was able to take to the track to begin the outdoor season Thursday. The Warhawk boys made the trip to Belle Plaine and finished 11th in the team race with 41 points.

Montezuma won the meet with 157 points with Grundy Center in second with 141 and English Valleys third with 139.

North Mahaska picked up a pair of runnerup finishes, a third and fourth. Andy Knockel had the highest individual finish with a run in the 200 meters in 23.55 seconds. The Warhawks were second in the 3,200-meter relay in 8:55.87. No runners were listed on the results on Varsity Bound.

NM took third in the 1,600-meter medley relay in 3:57.08. Nate Sampson added a fourth place finish in the long jump with a leap of 18-feet 10-inches. The 1,600-meter relay team garnered fourth as well in 3:46.66 as did the 800-meter medley in 1:41.39.

North Mahaska will compete at the Lynnville-Sully co-ed meet on Tuesday, April 2.
