National Christian Artists to Perform Free Concert in Oskaloosa Square

Two national Christian recording artists, Ryan Stevenson and Tim Timmons, will be performing a free outdoor concert in the Oskaloosa Square on Saturday, August 5th. The “Concert on the Square” is in its third year and has continued to grow each year, with nearly 3,000 attending in 2016. The evening features amazing music, free kids games and activities, a variety of food vendors, local soloists, and more.
About the Artists
Ryan Stevenson took the Christian music world by storm in 2016 with his hit song Eye of the Storm. Not only did it spend 15-weeks at #1, but it was named Song of the Year by numerous outlets. His other songs include: Holding Nothing Back, The Human Side, and The Gospel, all of which have entered the Billboard Top 40 and found their way into churches throughout the country.
Tim Timmons came to Oskaloosa for the first “Concert on the Square” in 2015. He is the author of several Billboard charting worship songs including: Cast My Cares, It Starts with Me, Awake Our Souls, and Everywhere I Go.
In addition to national artists, a local Christian band will also perform. Bridge Worship from Ottumwa will return for a second year. This group leads worship each week at the Bridge Church in Ottumwa. The group released their latest album, Resound, on iTunes and CD in December. It features a mix of covers and original music.
Food and Fun
A free Kids Zone and seven food venders will be on hand to keep kids entertained and stomachs full. Food trucks include 4 K’s Kettle Corn, Mahaska County Cattleman’s sponsored by Habitat for Humanity, The Barnyard, Wanderlunch, Lefties BBQ, Oskaloosa Christian School serving Breadeaux Pizza and baked goods, and Sno Biz.
The Kids Zone will feature fun and games sponsored by Mahaska Drug, and a dunk tank will give local individuals a splash for charity.
All the fun starts at 5:30 PM, with local talent taking the stage at 5:30, followed by Bridge Worship, then Tim Timmons, and finally Ryan Stevenson taking the stage around 8:30.
Everyone is invited to experience a night of worship in the heart of Downtown Oskaloosa.
