New Notable Iowa Veterans Photo Exhibit Opens Nov. 8
Choir Concert on Nov. 8
Extended hours at museum in observance of Veterans Day
The Iowa Gold Star Military Museum, located on Camp Dodge, 7105 NW 70th Ave., Johnston, Iowa, will host the following special events in honor of Veterans Day:
-On Friday, Nov. 8, West Des Moines’ Westridge Elementary School 5th Grade choir will present a Veterans Day concert beginning at 10 a.m. at the museum;
-A new photographic exhibit honoring notable Iowa veterans will open Friday, Nov. 8. The Notable Iowa Veterans exhibit, photographed by Grandview University Professor Emeritus Dr. Bill Schaefer, is the second installment of the project, which honors the significant military and civilian accomplishments of Iowa veterans from across the state.

In honor of Veterans Day weekend, the Iowa Gold Star Military Museum’s hours are as follows:
Friday, Nov. 8: 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Saturday, Nov. 9: 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Sunday, Nov. 10: Closed
Monday, Nov. 11: 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Normal museum hours of operation will resume on Tuesday, Nov. 12 (see below for hours). As always, admission to the museum is free and open to the public.
