Multiple Charges Filed In Wednesday Morning Distrubance
On Thursday, 02/20/13 at 6:58a.m. Officers responded to the to the Oskaloosa Public Works building at 804 South D Street in reference to an adult male that struck a closed garage door at the facility with his vehicle and then physically entered the building and started making threats to the Oskaloosa Public Works Director. While en route, Officers were informed the suspect had left the building and was driving northbound on D Street. The suspect, Bobby Lee Vandalen Jr. age 49, was located at the intersection of 6th Avenue West and South D Street, after the suspect’s vehicle struck the vehicle of an off-duty Oskaloosa Police Officer. Bobby Lee Vandalen was then placed under arrest and transported to the Mahaska County Jail . Vandalen was charged with the following:
Harassment 1st degree, 3 counts – aggravated misdemeanor
Operating While Impaired 1st – serious misdemeanor
Criminal Mischief 5th degree – simple misdemeanor
Assault in violation of Individual Rights – aggravated misdemeanor
Interference with Official Acts Causing Injury – aggravated misdemeanor
