MILLIKIN DASHES TO SECOND PLACE AT IHCC INVITE (MEN)
Ottumwa, IA – Sophomore Brady Millikin (Hedrick, IA/Pekin) posted a second-place overall finish at the 2022 Indian Hills Invitational to lead the Warriors at the Cedar Creek Golf Course on Friday. As a team, Indian Hills placed sixth overall.
Millikin nearly posted a personal best for the second consecutive meet as the sophomore standout recorded a time of 25:14.2. Millikin, this week’s Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) DI Men’s Cross Country Athlete of the Week, fell just 10 seconds shy of a personal record. The sophomore finished over one full minute ahead of the third-place finisher.
Friday marked the fourth annual Indian Hills Invitational at the Cedar Creek Golf Course. Millikin’s second-place showing was the highest finish for an Indian Hills runner in the four years of the event.
Freshman Logan Soedt (Eldridge, IA/North Scott) finished just two seconds shy of a personal best on Friday to place 15th overall with a time of 27:48.3. Zack Wise (Packwood, IA/Pekin) placed 27th overall with a time of 28:30.7 for a new personal best.
Jacchaeus Taylor (Kansas City, MO/Raytown) came in 34th place with a time of 29:19.9, the first time the freshman has broke the 30-miunute barrier in is collegiate career. Sophomore Weston Shively (Bloomfield, IA/Davis County) rounded out the scoring for the Warriors with a time of 31:15.3.
North Iowa Area Community College took home the top team title at the event with a low of 76 points. Graceland University’s Dillon Grover was the top individual finisher with a time of 24:24.7.
The Warriors will now prepare for the upcoming National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) DI Region XI Championship in Fort Dodge, IA on October 28.
