Michael Brustoski, 73, of Oskaloosa, passed away Thursday, October 28, 2021, at Mahaska Health in Oskaloosa. Michael Jack Brustoski, the eldest son of Michael and Corinne (Feste) Brustoski, was born October 21, 1948, in Oceanside, California.

His father’s naval career moved the family often, and Michael graduated from high school in 1966 in Manteca, California. He followed his father into the military, enlisting in the Army on November 25, 1966. He served for 11 months and then transferred to the Army Reserves to finish his obligation. Mike continued his education, studying Electrical Engineering.

After earning his degree, he was employed as an apprentice engineer for a year and then was hired by the Boeing Company in Seattle, Washington.

Mike married Kaye in 1980. She passed away in 2002.

Michael was a past member of the American Legion in the state of Washington. He moved to Oskaloosa in 2003. He was a grateful member of the recovery groups in the community.

His family includes his sisters: Shawna (& Dannie) Gilchrist of Oskaloosa, and Patricia Tierney of Port Orchard, Washington. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews that loved him very much, giving him the name “Uncle Pickle.”

In addition to his parents, Mike was preceded in death by his wife, Kaye; two brothers: Joseph and Stephen Brustoski, and two sisters: Stephanie Brustoski and his twin sister, Michelle White.

As was his wish, Michael has been cremated.
The burial of his ashes will be in Beacon Cemetery.
A Celebration of his life will be held at a later date.

Langkamp Funeral Chapel & Crematory is handling Mike’s final arrangements.
