Kenneth Hunt, 89, of Lacey, died Friday, October 25, 2019. Kenneth was born January 8, 1930 in Lower Grove, Iowa, to George and Wilma Beckman Hunt.

Kenneth attended school at Lacey and New Sharon.

Kenneth was united in marriage to Darlene Newell on July 27, 1950 in the Christian Church by Reverend Dwight Walker. Darlene passed away July 29, 2008. Seven children were born to this marriage.

Kenneth started his work career as a mechanic. He then worked at Iowa Valve and Drive-In Theater for several years. He then worked at as a carpenter, eventually began his own business. He became a rural mail carrier with The United States Postal Service, retiring in December 1988.

Kenneth enjoyed camping and the outdoors. Kenneth and Darlene enjoyed the Iowa State Fair where they camped the whole fair since 1960. They spent their winters in Texas.

Kenneth’s family includes three sons: Randy (& Debbie) Hunt, Roy Hunt, and Max (& Mary) Hunt; two daughters: Karen Johnson and Linda (& Rick) Mattix; and many, many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Darlene; his parents; a daughter, Kathy Rozendaal; a son, Kenny Hunt; and a grandson, Joshua Hunt.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, October 30, 2019, at 10:30 a.m. in the Bates Funeral Chapel with Reverend Jon Nelson officiating.
Burial will be in the Forest Cemetery, Oskaloosa. The Bates Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
Visitation will be Tuesday, October 29, 2019 beginning at 11:00 a.m. in the Bates Funeral Chapel. Kenneth’s family will be present in the chapel to greet family and friends from 5-7 p.m.
Memorials may be made to the family.
