Fannie Maurine Cooper, age 97, of Plover, WI and formerly of University Park, IA passed away with her family at her side early Wednesday morning, August 28, 2019, at Wellington Place at Whiting in Stevens Point, WI, an assisted living facility.
Fannie was born on January 6, 1922, in Thedford, NE, the fifth of seven children born to Paul and Cecile (Marshall) Schufeldt.

Maurine attended several rural elementary schools in the Thedford-Stapleton area. During her senior year in high school, she became a born again Christian and committed her life to Christ.
After graduating from Sargent High School in 1939, she taught in rural schools for three years. Maurine graduated from Greenville College in Greenville, IL in 1947 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education-Psychology; she previously received an AA Degree from Central College, McPherson, KS. She taught elementary grades at Sargent, NE, at the Vandalia school district in IL, and in Chambers, NE, for a total of 17 years.

On December 26, 1951, in her parent’s ranch home west of Burwell, NE, she was married to Floyd L. Cooper.

Together, Maurine and Floyd spent many years in Pastoral Ministry, including Free Methodist Churches in Kansas, Nebraska, and Iowa, the Lovilia, IA Community Church and the Union Chapel in Fremont, IA. She was a member of the Oskaloosa Free Methodist Church. She was faithful in serving the Lord in women’s and children’s ministries.

Maurine enjoyed sewing, reading, crafts and being a homemaker and a friend to others.

Maurine and Floyd became the parents of three children: Rodney, Rhonda, and Leighton. Floyd and Maurine moved from University Park, IA to Plover, WI in October of 2012.

Maurine is survived by her husband, Floyd; her children: Rodney (& Debra) Cooper of Pagosa Springs, CO, Rhonda (& Neil) Rippey of Plover, WI, and Leighton (& Jill) of Murrysville, PA; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law: Linda Schufeldt of Omaha, NE, and Verla Schufeldt of Mills, WY; as well as many nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, September 28, 2019, at Langkamp Funeral Chapel with Pastor David Brown officiating.
Interment of her ashes will be in University Park Cemetery. The family will greet visitors from 9:30 a.m. to service time on Saturday.
Memorial contributions can be made to International Child Care Ministries of the Free Methodist Church of North America or Wellington Place at Whiting Assisted Living.
