Marlene Fae Felton Burggraaf, the 2nd of fraternal twins, was born to Arnold and Treva (Braden) Felton on June 22, 1950 in Waterloo, Iowa. She always said that’s the last time she was late.

Marlene was in a hurry to be an adult, marrying the love of her life, Chad Burggraaf, at age 16 on September 15, 1966 in Oskaloosa. Iowa.

A lifelong dream was to have seven children and be a stay at home mom. After being truly blessed with two children, Arnold and Coral, Marlene decided to study nursing at Indian Hills and became a LPN in May of 1979. As a LPN she worked in geriatrics.

Family was very important to Marlene and she loved spending time with her husband, Chad, and the rest of her family. She loved to read, take naps and visiting with friends and family.

Marlene first accepted Christ as her Savior in 1960 and felt the need to recommit over the years. Marlene always said her faith pulled her through many times and she never felt God had ever deserted her. Marlene was a faithful member of the Union Mills Christian Church and the Daughters of Rebekah Lodge.

Marlene’s memory will be honored by her husband of 51 years, Chad Burggraaf of New Sharon; two children: Arnold (& Ginger) Burggraaf of Grinnell and Coral (& Jon) Lentzkow of New Sharon; four grandchildren: Samantha Duncan of Grinnell, Brandon Burggraaf of Grinnell, Kenneth Lentzkow of New Sharon, and William Lentzkow of New Sharon; her twin sister, Arlene (& Bob) Johnson of Marshalltown; and many other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Arnold and Treva Felton; and her step mother, Pearl Felton.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
Burial will be held in the Barnes City Cemetery in Barnes City.
