Marion A. Breuklander, 79, of Oskaloosa passed away Tuesday, January 6, 2015, at Mahaska Health Partnership in Oskaloosa. Marion A. Breuklander, son of Cornelius and Katherine (Fraaken) Breuklander, was born January 9, 1935 in Harvey, Iowa.

As a youngster, Marion attended Harvey Schools and helped the family with the daily chores. In 1966 he met Dixie Sams and they were married, May 7, 1967, in Lincoln, Nebraska. In 1969 Marion began working for Vermeer Manufacturing, commuting daily from Des Moines to Pella. The family moved to Knoxville in 1970 and Marion continued to work for Vermeer. In 1977 Marion moved back to Des Moines where he began working for a local scrapyard. Marion retired in 1980.

Marion enjoyed attending the Knoxville races, fishing and mushroom hunting. Marion enjoyed being with his family and friends.

His family includes his two daughters: Connie Breuklander and fiancé, Gary Tolles, of New Sharon and Tina Houghton and fiancé, Larry Olson, of Sierra Vista, AZ; seven grandchildren: Gary (& Elizabeth) Ross, Crystal Ross, Vicki Houghton, Wayne Houghton, Freedom Sims, Johnie Sims Jr. and Ashlee Sorter; ten great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, Marion was preceded in death by his wife Dixie; a daughter, Susan Breuklander; two brothers, John and Ed Breuklander; and four sisters: Nellie Burkhart, Dorris Snyder, Minerva Breuklander and Ethel Schakel.

As was his wish, Marion’s body has been cremated. Private family services will be held at a later date.
Memorials may be made in his name.
