Marilyn Kathryn Rozenboom, 71, of Rose Hill went to be with the Lord Thursday, February 27, 2014, while being cared for at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines.

Marilyn was born Wednesday, March 25, 1942 in Oskaloosa, the daughter of Lester and Viola Dykstra Vander Linden. She graduated from the Pella Christian High School with the class of 1960.

On October 5, 1961, Marilyn was united in marriage to Ronald Rozenboom in Pella. Early on Marilyn worked at the Vernon Company. Following the birth of her daughter Laura, Marilyn stayed home to care for her children. She later worked as an Avon representative for over 20 years and at Hy-Vee for over 25 years decorating cakes. She retired from Hy-Vee in the early 2000’s.

Marilyn was a very active member of the Bethel Christian Reformed Church and a 4H leader for many years. She was very active in several groups including the Gingham Girls Neighborhood Club and the Nelson Pioneer Farm.

Marilyn loved quilting, scrapbooking and antiques. She also enjoyed traveling, especially when the trips included a visit to their dearly loved children and grandchildren.

Marilyn’s family includes her husband of over 52 years: Ronald Rozenboom of Rose Hill; three daughters: Laura (& Brian) Ten Pass of Waupun, Wisconsin, Diane (& Harwin) Te Slaa of Hull, Iowa and Jana (& Richard) Van Rooyen of Stratford, Ontario, Canada; 10 grandchildren: Tyler (& fiancée Jessica Vos) Ten Pass, Hollie Ten Pass, Terissa Te Slaa, Allison Te Slaa, Jamison Te Slaa, Jonathan Te Slaa, Kathryn Van Rooyen, Joseph Van Rooyen, Daniel Van Rooyen and David Van Rooyen; a brother: Edwin (& Jeanne) Vander Linden of Beaver Creek, Ohio; a sister: Marcella (& Carl) Vander Molen of Bradenton, Florida; four brothers-in-law: Gerald (& Geneva) Rozenboom of Peoria, Iowa; Marvin (& Jean) Rozenboom of New Sharon, Iowa; Ed (& Mary) Rozenboom of Oskaloosa, Iowa; and Irvin (& Kathy) Rozenboom of Altoona, Iowa; a sister-in-law: Arlene (& Bill) Wilder of Olathe, Kansas; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her father and mother in law: Joe and Gertrude Rozenboom; and her brother and sisters in law: Eunice (& Don) Vos and Shirley Blom.

Funeral services will be held Monday, March 3, 2014 at 10:30 A.M. at Bethel Christian Reformed Church in Oskaloosa with Pastor Doug Vander Pol officiating.
There will be a family prayer service at 10:15 Monday morning in the fellowship hall of the church.
Burial will be in Forest Cemetery in Oskaloosa.
Visitation will begin Sunday after 10 A.M. in the Bates Funeral Chapel and the family will be present at the funeral chapel Sunday from 1 – 4 P.M. to greet friends and relatives.
Memorials may be made to the Oskaloosa Christian School or the American Cancer Society.
