Marguerite Webster, 94, of Oskaloosa died Friday, August 27, 2021, at Mahaska Health Partnership in Oskaloosa. Marguerite Vada Webster, daughter of Estel and Mabel Bertha (Blom) Taylor, was born October 5, 1926, in rural Keokuk County near Cedar, Iowa.
A 1944 graduate of Cedar High School, Marguerite went on to study business administration and accounting at Central College in Pella for two years.
Marguerite worked as an office manager for the law offices of Bray, McCoy, and Faulkner, and Gilbert and Stoddard. She was also employed at Intraco, Farm Service, and lastly at Carter Steel.
Marguerite was a charter member of People to People International and Iowa Business and Professional Women. She enjoyed all the fine arts especially music and theater productions.
Her family includes a daughter, Laura Larsen of West Des Moines; granddaughters: Kimberly Phillips of Barstow, CA and Meredith (& Kelly) Phillips of Chicago, IL; great-grandchildren: twins, Benjamin “Jamie” and Gemma Phillips; a sister-in-law, Lorraine Taylor of Longview, Texas; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Marguerite was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Lee Larsen, and a brother, Dwight Taylor.
Private graveside services were held at Tioga Cemetery. Langkamp Funeral Chapel was entrusted with her arrangements.
