Margie Suzanne Adam, age 66, of Grinnell, passed away on Thursday, February 11, 2021 at the Grinnell Heath Care Center in Grinnell under Hospice Care. She was born on August 24, 1954, the daughter of John and Zella (Miller) Larison. On August 28, 1971, she was united in marriage to Charles David Adam in Independence, Kansas.
She was primarily a stay-at-home mother, but also worked part-time at A&W, Strawtown Inn, and McDonalds. Margie enjoyed roller skating, music, her poodles (Snoopy and Scrappy), sailing, being on the water, fishing, shopping at the mall, motorcycles, muscle cars, reading to her children, cooking and baking unique dishes, and tending to her aquariums. Her real joy in life was spending time with her family, especially around Christmas time.
Margie is survived by her children, Polly (Sean) Davis of Brookings, S.D. and Dolly Adam of Arlington, Texas; her grandchildren, Arianna and Everett Davis; her siblings, Steven Larison of Newton, Patty (Clark) Oldham of New Sharon, Debbie Keeley of Oskaloosa, Mary Clendanen of Des Moines, Billy Larison of Des Moines, Carla Koons of Pella, and Andy Utterback of Oskaloosa. Her husband, Charles David Adam; her mother and a brother, Glen Larison, preceded her in death.
As per Margie’s wishes, her body has been cremated and a memorial service will be held at a later date in the spring. The Bates Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
