Manatt to Serve as Pow I-80 Interim Director

Poweshiek Iowa Development (Pow I-80) has appointed Laura Manatt to serve as their Interim Director. Manatt has worked for Poweshiek Iowa Development as the Marketing and Economic Development Coordinator for the past 2 years.

Manatt replaces former Pow I-80 Executive Director, Deb Collum Calderwood. Calderwood resigned the position in late-July to become a Development Director for George Washington University Medical School in Washington D.C.

Manatt will continue to serve Poweshiek County by leading economic development efforts by driving growth, job creation, and other improvement initiatives throughout the county.

Prior to joining Poweshiek Iowa Development Manatt was the Marketing Director for Iowa Speedway in Newton from 2006-2011 and from 2002-2006, she worked as the Marketing Manager for Altorfer Caterpillar based out of Cedar Rapids.

A native of Urbandale, and graduate of Urbandale High School, Manatt has a Bachelor of Science – Business: Marketing from Iowa State University and now resides in Brooklyn, with her husband Brian, and daughters Clair, Payton, and Lucia.
