Majorie A. McFall
January 13, 1937 – June 9, 2019
Oskaloosa, Iowa | Age 82

Marjorie Ann McFall, age 82, passed away Sunday, June 9, 2019 at the MHP Hospice Serenity House in Oskaloosa. Marge was born January 13, 1937 south of Rose Hill, Iowa, the daughter of Floyd and Wilma (Waddell) Hawkinson.
Marge attended rural schools, graduating from the Rose Hill High School as the Valedictorian of the class of 1955. Marge married Rex W. McFall on August 14, 1955 at the Delta Christian Church. To this union two children were born: Ronald Dean McFall and Sherry Lynn McFall.
Marge was a stay-at-home mother for several years, then became the first “class associate” at Lincoln Elementary School. She served in that capacity for 41 years, including at the new elementary school, Oskaloosa Junior High School and the Oskaloosa Middle School. Marjorie retired from the Oskaloosa Middle School in 2015. She really enjoyed her interactions with the students and enjoyed, in her later years, greetings of “Hi, Mrs. McFall” from her former students.
Marge and her husband Rex have spent all their lives in Oskaloosa, raising their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Marge’s entire life was focused on her love for her family and especially for her great grand-children Bailey and Henry. They looked forward to attending their children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren’s activities. Even though, in later years, physical limitations made it difficult for her to attend, her commitment to her family always prevailed and she made sure she was present. She was a member of the Gateway Nazarene Church for over 40 years, where she always enjoyed mother/daughter activities and the Hope Dinner. Marge always looked forward to getting together with her close friends and co-workers. Sunday evening “Bored Meetings” with a group of close friends including: Chuck and Joan LaRue, Merle and Donna Minter, DeLynn Minter, Kay and Roger Swanson, Jimmy and Becky Carter, and Del Bittner, were always a highlight of the week for Marge.
Marge is survived by her husband of 63 years, Rex W. McFall of Oskaloosa; her son, Ronald (& Miriam) McFall of Savage, Minnesota; their two children, Alanna McFall and Devron McFall; her daughter, Sherry Lynn Vogt of Oskaloosa; Sherry’s children, Seana Vogt, Holly Vogt (& Craig Neves) and Treyton McFall; and two very special great grandchildren, Bailey and Henry. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law, Dottie Hawkinson of Chariton and Gerri (McFall) Visser of Oskaloosa.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd and Wilma Hawkinson; her two brothers, William Hawkinson and John Hawkinson; sister-in-law, Phyllis Hawkinson; her in-laws, Harry and Effie McFall; her sister-in-law, Gladys Foster; and brothers-in-law: Junior Foster, Howard McFall and Dale McFall.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 12, 2019, at 10:30 a.m. in the Gateway Church of the Nazarene in Oskaloosa with Pastor Mike Sereg officiating.
Burial will be in the Forest Cemetery in Oskaloosa. The Bates Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
