Mahaska Health Partnership Welcomes New Providers
MAHASKA COUNTY – The Mahaska Health Partnership (MHP) Medical Staff is pleased to welcome Family Nurse Practitioners Lisa Smith, ARNP-C, and Eva Sietsema, ARNP-C, as well as Adult Nurse Practitioner Megan Childers, ARNP-BC, to its roster of providers caring for patients on the MHP campus in Oskaloosa.
“The addition of these three outstanding primary care providers furthers our efforts to ensure our communities’ primary healthcare needs can be met locally,” MHP Chief Operating Officer Erin Baldwin stressed. “With their addition, we can now offer appointments until 6:30 in the evening Monday through Thursday!”
Family Nurse Practitioner Lisa Smith, ARNP-C, studied at the University of Missouri and has five years of experience providing primary care in a rural area. “Patients can expect quality care thorough listening, thorough exams and guidance,” Smith explained. “I always want my patients to feel well equipped to continue care at home.”
Family Nurse Practitioner Eva Sietsema, ARNP-C, comes to MHP from Princeton, IL, and said she enjoys treating patients of all ages. “I worked as a nurse for five years but always planned to continue my education because I wanted to be able to do more for my patients.
“I want my patients to feel comfortable coming to me for all of their problems because even if I don’t have the answer I’ll do what I can to help them find it,” Sietsema shared.
Adult Nurse Practitioner Megan Childers, ARNP-BC, recently moved to Oskaloosa from Nashville, TN. She was struck by how friendly the community was during her visit.
“I’ve lived in the south my entire life in very large cities; I wanted to experience something new and I look forward to getting to know people here.”
Childers can provide primary care for patients age 13 and up and said she believes in treating the whole patient. “My goal is to provide the best possible care with compassion and understanding that incorporates every aspect of their life.”
Smith, Sietsema and Childers join the following primary care providers on the MHP campus: Family Practice Providers Allan Peterson, MD; Diane Nutter, ARNP; Ed Hirl, MD; Kim Seda, PA-C; Leigh Gilburn, DO; Mary Kay Henderson, ARNP-C; Nick Messamer, MD; Shawn Richmond, MD; Stephen Mineart, MD; Tina Main, ARNP-C; Chris Beaird, ARNP-BC; Adult Nurse Practitioner Lisa Nelson, ARNP-C; and Pediatrician John O’Brien, MD.
