Mahaska County YMCA Dolphins Splash into 2013
Swim Team 2012-2013
Oskaloosa, December 20, 2012 – The Mahaska County Y Dolphins Swim Team took its last competitive splash of 2012 at home on December 15, but after a few stellar meets, swimmers are excited and anxious for the remaining schedule in 2013. After hosting its first home meet of the season on December 1, which saw one of the largest meet attendance numbers in Dolphins history, the Dolphins welcomed the Riverfront YMCA (Des Moines) on December 15. Having four meets completed before taking a few days of rest for the holidays, the Dolphins Swim Team is now in preparation mode for meets at the Ankeny YMCA on January 5, a home stand at the Mahaska County Y on January 12, a trip to the Marshalltown Y on January 19, a meet at the Burlington Y on January 26, and finally, a visit to Riverfront (Des Moines) on February 2. The January 12 meet will be the last home event of the year, with teams from the Marshalltown and Newton YMCAs making the trip to Oskaloosa, Iowa.
The Dolphins Swim Team wishes everyone happy holidays, and hopes to see continued support throughout the season. Dolphins Coach Wade Bolibaugh expressed, “This year’s Dolphins have been a great group to develop and coach. Our squad has an uncommon balance of both experienced and new swim team members, which makes it fun for the swimmers, the coaches, and the fans!”
