Mahaska County Sheriff’s Investigation Into Body Discovered Along 163 Completed

The Mahaska County Sheriff’s Office has concluded it’s investigation into the deceased female body found lying along Highway 163, during the early morning hours of Sunday, November 17th, 2019. The body has been identified as a 69-year-old female from Oskaloosa.

The Sheriff’s Office investigation indicated that this death was a result of suicide, from the individual jumping off the Indian Way overpass bridge onto the highway below. The cause of death was determined to be multiple blunt force injuries.

The Sheriff’s Office was assisted with this investigation by members of the Oskaloosa Police Department, the Iowa State Medical Examiner’s Office, Mahaska Health Hospital Ambulance Service, the Mahaska County Dispatch Center, the Division of Criminal Investigations and the Iowa Highway Patrol.
