Mahaska County: NOTICE OF ELECTION
Notice is hereby given to the voters of Mahaska County, Iowa, pursuant to Section 49.53, 2021Code of Iowa, as amended, that the General Election will be held Tuesday, November 8, 2022, for the offices ofUnited States Senator, United States RepresentativeDistrict 1, Governor, Secretary of State, Auditor of State, Treasurer of State, Secretary ofAgriculture, Attorney General, State Senator District 19 or State Senator District 44, State Representative District 37 or State Representative District 88, two positions for County Supervisor, County Treasurer, County Recorder, County Attorney and County Auditor to filla vacancy. The ballot will also include NonPartisan Offices township Trustee, (twoto be electedper township), ScottTownship will have a position to fill a vacancy, TownshipClerk, County Hospital Trustees (fourto be elected), Soil and Water Conservation District Commissioners(twoto be elected, and one to fill vacancy), and County Agricultural Extension Council(fiveto be elected), and the Judicial Ballot.A Constitutional Public Measure Questionisalso on the ballot.Polls are open from 7:00 A.M. until 8:00 P.M. at which all eligible voters within the county may cast votes.

Voters are required to provide an approved form of identification at the polling place before they may receive and cast a ballot. Voters who are not pre-registered or who have changed precincts will also be required to provide proof of residence. Any voter who cannot show ID may have their identity attested to by another registered voter in the precinct who has proper ID. All voting sites are fully accessible to persons with physical disabilities. Each site also has a voter assist ballot marking device which allows persons with sight disabilities to mark their ballot independently. After making selections with the ballot marking device, via touchpad or touchscreen, the device will mark the voter’s paper ballot and the voter will insert their marked ballot in the regular ballot tabulator used for all other ballots.
Voters may also choose another person to assist them to vote, except their employer, employer’s agent, or an officer or agent of the voter’s union. Curb-side voting is available at each site for voters unable to leave their vehicle. Voters wishing to use the curb-side option should bring someone with them contact the voting site or County Auditor’s Office at 641-673-7148 with an expected time of arrival. All of these accessibility options are also available at the courthouse for absentee voting through Monday, November 7, 2022.
