Mahaska County Habitat for Humanity began its Stud Finder fundraiser yesterday. The local Habitat will be selling studs to raise money to help build its next new home on Mabel. The Stud Finder Fundraiser will allow the community to sponsor studs for $100 each stud. The sponsor will then be able to decorate that stud and return it to Mahaska County Habitat for Humanity. The affiliate will then frame the house with the decorated studs and host an invite only event which allows sponsors to find and view their stud framed into the new build. The Stud Finder Event will be held in mid-October once the house has been framed. The Event will have light refreshments and the opportunity for each sponsor to find and view their studs while touring the house.

Mahaska County Habitat for Humanity will be selling studs all of this week and next week. The studs will need to be picked up at Malcom Lumber September 3rd-7th. Sponsors will take the stud home and decorate it before bringing it to the Groundbreaking Ceremony in mid-September. Studs can be decorated with names, group names, logos, artwork, messages to the family who will live in the home or even dedicated as a memorial to someone close.

This Event is made possible by the generous donation of the studs by Malcom Lumber. If you would like to sponsor a stud or have questions please contact Valinn at 641.295.5805 or director@mahaskahfh.org
