Lynn Carl, 67 of Montezuma passed away Saturday afternoon, June 22, 2019 at the Montezuma Specialty Care in Montezuma. Cloyde Lynn Carl, the son of Cloyde and Frances (Seaborg) Carl, was born on April 4, 1952 in Grinnell, Iowa.

Lynn graduated from Montezuma High School in 1970 and attended Iowa State University.

Lynn started farming with his dad and his uncle Elmer at a young age and continued to farm until the late 1990’s. He also worked at Pamco, Pro-Line and Vermeer, retiring due to health reasons.

Lynn enjoyed hunting at a young age, fishing, woodworking, spending time with his grandchildren and he was an avid Iowa State Cyclone fan. He was a member of the Montezuma Jaycees, Farm Bureau and the Montezuma Methodist Church. Lynn served many years on the Montezuma School Board.

His legacy will be honored by his children: Scott Carl of Montezuma, Kevin (& Monica) Carl of Montezuma, Kerri Carl of Montezuma and Anthony (& Raelee) Reed of Chicago, IL; his seven grandchildren: Julisa Scully, Alyssa Kilmer, MaKenna Carl, Chandler Carl, Madelyn Carl, Morgan Vanderford and Tyler Vanderford; three great grandchildren: McKinnon Scully, Nathan Kilmer and Kaylee Kilmer; his mother, Frances Carl of Montezuma; his sister, Jan Carl (& Gene Harper) of Arvada, CO; and many other relatives and friends.

Lynn was preceded in death by his father, Cloyde Carl.

Memorial services will begin at 11:00 am Wednesday, June 26, 2019 at the United Methodist Church in Montezuma.
Private family burial will be held in the Jackson Township in Montezuma. Holland-Coble Funeral Home of Montezuma is in charge of arrangements.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm Tuesday, June 25, 2019 at the Holland-Coble Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Montezuma Fire and Ambulance.
