Louise Whitehead, 91 of New Sharon, passed away peacefully Monday evening, August 7, 2017 at the Oskaloosa Care Center. Louise Nadine Whitehead, the daughter of Floyd and Lena (Jones) Beason, was born on January 27, 1926 at home east of Lynnville, Iowa.

Louise attended Grinnell High School.

Louise was united in marriage to Lloyd “Tom” Whitehead in 1943. To this union two daughters were born, Marilyn Joan and Janet Rae.

Louise worked at Pella Products for 22 years as a seamstress. Following her time at Pella Products, Louise owned and operated The Corner Shop in New Sharon. She was a wonderful seamstress and was known for making clothes for several people around town including a wedding dress for her daughter, Joan.

Louise was an avid reader and enjoyed her time she spent and the friends she made at Prairie Homes. She was a member of the New Sharon Christian Church, the Loyal Daughters and the Daughters of Rebekah Lodge.

Her memory will be cherished by her daughters, Marilyn Joan Anderegg of Keota and Janet Rae (& Dennis) Harvath of Champlin, Minnesota; three grandchildren: Lisa (& Wes) Foster, Brian Netten and Andy Horvath; three great grandchildren: Sydney, Jaclyn and Quincy Foster; and many other relatives and friends.

Louise was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Tom Whitehead; an infant grandson, Michael Netten; a brother, Max Beason; three sisters, Neta Stewart, Maxine Armstrong and Retha Lynch; and a son-in-law, Bill Anderegg.

Funeral services will begin at 11:00 am Friday, August 11, 2017 at the Holland-Coble Funeral Home in New Sharon.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
Burial will be held in the Highland Cemetery in New Sharon.
Memorial contributions may be made to the New Sharon Fire and Rescue or the New Sharon First Christian Church.
