Lois Fulk, age 77, of Oskaloosa, died Thursday, October 31, 2019 at the MHP Hospice Serenity House in Oskaloosa, Iowa. She was born March 25, 1942, the daughter of Paul and Mary (Shelton) Vance in Oskaloosa.

Lois attended Oskaloosa schools and graduated with the class of 1960.

On July 4, 1996, she was united in marriage to Jim Fulk at the Coal Creek Church southwest of Oskaloosa.

Lois worked as a nurse’s aide and also as a waitress at several restaurants. She later took a job at Pella Corporation where she worked until retiring after 25 years.

Lois volunteered at SHARE Iowa for many years. Lois felt this was a significant organization that benefited the people of Oskaloosa and was very important to her. She was a member of the Lady Eagles and was a Lady Mason. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

Her family includes her husband: Jim Fulk of Oskaloosa; her children: Waneta (& John Sims) Woods of Atlantic, Debbie (& Brian) O’Gara of Mankato, Minnesota, Jeff (& Mary) McCollum of Kirkville, Verda (& Brandt) Smith of Oskaloosa and Lila (& George Vandermartin) Elder of Oskaloosa; a sister-in-law: Carol Vance; several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Lois was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters: Retha Pearson, Pauline Arballo, and a sister in infancy, Dorothy Vance; and a brother: Eugene “Bob” Vance.

As was her wish, Lois’s body has been cremated.
A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, November 3, 2019, at 1:00 PM at the Coal Creek Cemetery southwest of Oskaloosa. The Bates Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
Memorials may be made to the family.
