LOCAL HISTORIAN TO GIVE PRESENTATION ON MUCHAKINOCK

Oskaloosa, IA – Coal mining historian Doug Wilson will visit the Oskaloosa Public Library on Tuesday, July 22 to present “What About Muchakinock?” a historical look at the coal mining town in Mahaska County. The presentation will begin at 6:00 p.m. in Meeting Room A on the third floor of the library.
Wilson is a resident of Knoxville. He will present, by PowerPoint and written history, the story of Muchakinock, the predecessor to the popular Buxton mining story. The presentation is a part of the Oskaloosa Public Library’s Jazz Up Your Summer adult summer reading program.
