Linda Conger, 71 of Ollie, died Wednesday, September 11, 2019 at the Keokuk County Health Center. Linda Sue Shackelford Ruggles Conger, daughter of Louis and Pearl Shackelford, was born March 10, 1948 at the Glancy Nursing Home in New Sharon, Iowa.

Linda was a 1966 graduate of Tri-County High School where she was active in Basketball, Drama, and 4-H.

On December 24, 1966 Linda married Mickey F. Ruggles. He passed away February 15, 1985. Then on November 23, 1985 she was united in marriage to Edward Lee Conger.

Linda had a deep love for all of God’s creations. Over the years she had many pets. She enjoyed relic hunting, mushroom hunting, fishing, and gardening. Linda also enjoyed baking; she was best known for her blackberry cobbler. Above all her greatest joys in life were her children, Marlys and Mickey, her grandsons Derek and Wyatt Sharp and her great grandchildren Sammuel Lee Sharp, Ryleigh Garr, and Nolan Ryan Sharp.

Linda is survived by her brother, Max (& Linda) Shackelford of Douds; a sister, Dotty (& Don) Davis of Kansas City, MO; her daughter, Marlys (& Marty) Fleig of Ollie; and her adopted daughter, Tina (& Gene) Jones of Ollie. She also leaves behind two grandsons, Derek (& Amanda) Sharp and Wyatt (& Ashley) Sharp; and her great grandchildren, Sammuel, Ryleigh and Nolan.

She is preceded in death by her parents; three sisters: Marlys Shackelford, Joan Shackelford and Lois Ann Cunningham; two husbands, Mickey F. Ruggles and Edward L. Conger; a son, Mickey Dean Ruggles and a granddaughter, Dena Lee Sharp.

A memorial service will begin at 10:30 am on Saturday, September 14, 2019 at the Ollie Baptist Church.
Visitation with the family will begin one hour prior to the service.
Interment will be held privately in the Van Orsdall Cemetery at Ollie.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Ronald McDonald House at the University of Iowa Hospital.
