Fremont- Leland “Lee” Keith Clark age 69, of Fremont, passed away March 14, 2014 at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines.

Lee was born August 17, 1944 in Oskaloosa, Iowa, the son of Keith Clark and Dorothy Pfannebecker Clark.

Lee graduated from Fremont High School in 1963. Following graduation he worked at John Deere Ottumwa Works as a Field Test Mechanic for 30 years before retiring in 1994. He was united in marriage to Diane Schroeder in Vero Beach, Florida July 28, 1984.

Lee served on the Fremont City Council, the Volunteer Fire Department in Fremont and also coached Little League for the Fremont-Cedar areas. He was a member of the Fremont Jaycees., the Kirkville-Eddyville Masonic Lodge, and was a volunteer at the Knoxville Hall of Fame. He organized and ran the Greater Southeast Iowa Tractor ride as well as headed the Fremont car shows.

As a hobby, Lee restored antique cars and tractors and owned a auto body and repair shop in Fremont.

Lee is survived by his wife Diane of Fremont; a daughter: Tina (Shawn) Gallagher of Cedar Rapids; a son: David (Ginger) Clark, of West Des Moines; four grandchildren: Chase and Corbin Gallagher, Natalie and Cole Clark; two step-daughters: Susie (Elix) Coleman of Sarasota, Florida; Beckie (Billy) Swantek of Brandon, Florida; A step-son: John (Jill) Schroeder of Odessa, Florida; five step-grandchildren: Travis and Satchel Coleman, Jordan and Justin Shroeder, and William Swantek; a step-great-grandchild: Satchel Morgan; and a sister: Kathy Clark of Apache Junction, Arizona.

Lee was preceded in death by his parents.

As was Lee’s wish, his body has been cremated.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 19, at the Fremont Funeral Chapel open after 12:00 noon, with family present from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. with a Masonic Service at 7:00.
Memorial services will be held Thursday, March 20, at 1:00 P.M. in the Fremont Funeral Chapel; Fremont Funeral Chapel in charge of arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, Lee’s family has requested that memorials may be made in his name to Mahaska County Hospice.
