Lavon “Bonnie” Hall, 90 of Montezuma passed away peacefully Sunday evening, August 28 at the Montezuma Specialty Care nursing home in Montezuma. Lavon “Bonnie” Geraldine Hall, the daughter of Lester and Hazel Englebarts Hall was born on November 4, 1925 at her farm home in Bear Creek Township at Malcom, Iowa.
Bonnie grew up and attended country school through the 8th grade near Malcom. Her mother passed away at an early age and she became the caregiver to her younger brothers and sister.
Bonnie then moved to San Diego, California and lived with her sister, Nellie. She later moved to Plano, Texas and lived near her nieces before moving back to Montezuma to be near her sister, Donna Watson.
Bonnie was a very strong willed and determined person. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Malcom and attended many of her nieces and nephews school and church activities.
Bonnie was proceeded in death by her parents; and siblings: Marlin Hall, Dean Hall, Larry Hall, Nellie Powell and Donna Watson.
She is survived by her brothers Jack (& Linda) Hall of Brooklyn and Arlo (& Sandy) Hall of Des Moines, as well as many nieces, nephews and many friends.
Private family graveside services will be held at Ivy Hill Cemetery in Malcom at a later date. Holland-Coble Funeral Home of Montezuma is in charge of arrangements.
