Lantz Chosen as Chair of NAIA ASA

Oskaloosa—William Penn senior women’s golfer Madison Lantz will end her college career working on the national stage as she has been named the Chair of the NAIA’s Association of Student-Athletes (ASA).

A native of Corona, Calif., Lantz had been serving as WPU’s Chair as well as a representative for the Heart of America Athletic Conference prior to her recent appointment.

“It is an honor to be elected to the position of the Chair of the NAIA Association of Student-Athletes,” Lantz said. “I am so excited to represent William Penn University and the Heart of America Athletic Conference in this role. I am looking forward to be able to enhance the environment and be the voice for NAIA student-athletes.”

As the National Chair, she has numerous responsibilities, including being the Co-Chair of the Council of Student-Athletes (CSA) and being an ex-officio, non-voting member of the Council of Presidents (COP).

WPU Athletics Director Nik Rule is extremely proud of Lantz and knows she will be a great representative for the Statesmen.

“Madison is a transformational leader on our campus who has effectively advocated for her fellow student-athletes, while professionally working with administration to create the best student experience possible,” Rule said. “She has advanced in a rapid fashion as a leader and we are so proud of her, we cannot wait to see how she can positively impact student-athletes across the country like she has the student-athletes on our campus.”

The NAIA ASA is comprised of 21 student-athletes–one from each conference. In total, the NAIA ASA represents 250 schools and 77,000 student-athletes.
