Lady Statesmen Still Receiving Votes in First Regular Season Poll

William Penn Women’s Athletics

Oskaloosa–Despite not having a winning record entering Tuesday, the fact the William Penn women’s basketball team has faced several powerhouses has helped it remain on the national radar as the NAIA released its first regular season Division II women’s basketball poll.

The Lady Statesmen (4-4), who were 30th in the preseason poll, are now unofficially tied for 37th with four points.

Grand View also represents the Midwest Collegiate Conference at #14.

Concordia (Neb.) remains #1 with 343 points and all 13 first-place votes. Ozarks (Mo.), Indiana Wesleyan, Morningside, and Briar Cliff round out the top five.

The navy and gold have faced #1 Concordia (Neb.), #4 Morningside, #5 Briar Cliff, and #25 Hastings (Neb.). They then upset #21 St. Mary (Neb.) Tuesday.

William Penn remains in Oskaloosa Thursday night to host Central at 8 p.m.
