Oskaloosa–The William Penn women’s basketball team will be forced to win this week’s league tournament to reach nationals as it stands a few spots outside of a likely at-large spot in Tuesday’s tenth NAIA Division II poll.

The Lady Statesmen (18-9), who went 1-1 last week, drops two slots to #30 with 20 points. Grand View retains the top spot in the Midwest Collegiate Conference, gaining two more positions to #20.

Indiana Wesleyan stays on top with 340 points and nine first-place votes. Morningside jumps to second, while Eastern Oregon is third with the final four first-place votes. St. Francis (Ind.) and Ozarks (Mo.) round out the poll.

Weather permitting, #2 seed William Penn is slated to open the MCC Tournament Thursday by hosting #7 AIB in the quarterfinals at 7 p.m.
