Krystal Lynn Doud, 33, of New Sharon, passed away Thursday, August 1, 2019, at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines. She was born August 6, 1985, in Oskaloosa, the daughter of Thomas E. Doud and Julie Longcor.

Krystal attended Nothern Mahaska School in New Sharon and later attended Indian Hills Community College where she earned her AA Degree.

Krystal worked at several places including Dairy Queen in Pella and Oskaloosa, Jeld-Wen in Grinnell and at Cunningham as an I.T. Specialist. She also enjoyed being a waitress at the Riverside Family Restaurant in Oskaloosa.

Krystal enjoyed being outdoors near any body of water, fishing, camping and boating. She always put others before herself and enjoyed making people happy. Her children were the light of her life and the center of her universe.

Krystal’s family includes her two children, Taylor Brady and Kenadi Van Ryswyk; her mother, Julie (& Joe) Longcor of Searsboro; a brother, Charles Joseph (& Fiancé Felicia) Sytsma of Oskaloosa; a sister, Angie (& Isna) Bucklin of New Sharon; her grandmothers: Sandy Witt of New Sharon and Phyllis (& Carl) Vanderlinden of Oskaloosa; grandparents, May & Jim Stoker; and her step-mother, Cindy Doud of Oskaloosa. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and good friends.

She is preceded in death by her father, Thomas E. Doud; her grandparents: Jerry Witt, Harold Doud, and Harvey & Suzy Luzadder; and an uncle, Mark Doud.

As was her wish, Krystal’s body has been cremated.
A private family celebration of life will be held at a later date.
No visitation has been planned. The Bates Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
