At about 6:36 p.m. on November 27, 2015 Knoxville Police officers were called to the 2900 block W. Larson Street for the report of a 26-year-old man pointing a gun at his parents. The parents were able to get out of the house and call for police assistance.

Knoxville Police officers assisted by Marion County Sheriff deputies and Iowa State Patrol troopers secured the home and began trying to talk to the man. Shortly after 8:00 contact was made with the man and he agreed to meet with officers. The man was detained and transported to the Knoxville Police Department for further investigation. No injuries were reported during this incident.

That subject, Samuel Ridnouer, was eventually charged with Going Armed with Intent (Iowa Statute 708.8), a class D felony. Mr. Ridnouer was transported to the Marion County Jail pending his appearance in court.

As a reminder, a criminal charge is merely an accusation and all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

The Knoxville Fire and Rescue Department also assisted during this incident.
