Game #1

Pella Runs Away With Early Lead In Victory

The Indians watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in a 9-1 loss to Pella on Wednesday.

The Indians struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing Pella, giving up nine runs.

Pella opened up scoring in the second inning. Dix grounded out, scoring one run.

Pella scored five runs in the fifth inning. Pella’s offense in the inning was led by Halverson, Knox, and Dix, who all drove in runs.

Maddux Ashman took the loss for the Indians. The righthander surrendered five runs on four hits over four innings, striking out two.

Lukas Toubekis led the Indians with two hits in three at bats.

Game #2

Indians Claims Lead In Fifth Inning To Defeat Pella

The Indians stole the lead late in the game in a 3-2 victory over Pella on Wednesday. The game was tied at two with the Indians batting in the top of the fifth when Halverson threw a wild pitch allowing one run across the plate for the Indians.

The pitching was strong on both sides. The Indians pitchers struck out six.

Pella opened up scoring in the first inning. Trey Parks threw a wild pitch allowing one run across the plate for Pella.

Parks took the win for the Indians. Parks allowed four hits and two runs over four and a third innings, striking out six. Tate Peterson threw two-thirds of an inning in relief out of the bullpen. Peterson recorded the last two outs to earn the save for the Indians.

Dane Vanmersbergen, Jaden DeRonde, and Jake North each collected one hit to lead the Indians. The Indians didn’t commit a single error in the field. Trevin Griffin had seven chances in the field, the most on the team.
