John W. Beadle, 60, of Oskaloosa died Wednesday, November 14, 2012 at his home in Oskaloosa. He was born Sunday, October 5, 1952 in Mahaska County, the son of Fay and Patricia Fox Beadle. He graduated from Oskaloosa High School with the class of 1970. Following school John enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps. Following his discharge, John moved back to Oskaloosa and worked construction at Arthur Nelson building bridges. He later went to work for Dugger Construction for many years until his retirement in June of 2011. John enjoyed playing pool, playing cards, fishing, softball, basketball, hunting, and had a general love of life.

His family includes his mother: Patricia Beadle of Oskaloosa; two brothers: Robert Beadle and Larry (& Melba) Beadle all of Oskaloosa; a sister: Pam (& Delroy) Heidebrink of Sibley, Iowa; two nephews: Adam and Nick Beadle; and a niece: Tanya.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Graveside services and burial will be held Monday, November 19, 2012 at 10:30 A.M. at the Searsboro Community Cemetery in Searsboro, Iowa with Pastor Alvern Boetsma officiating. A procession will form at 9:45 A.M. at the Bates Funeral Chapel in Oskaloosa for those wishing to go to the cemetery. Military rites will be given by members of the Oskaloosa American Legion and V.F.W. As was his wish his body has been cremated and no visitation is planned at this time. Memorials may be made to the ALS Association, Iowa Chapter.
