Jenny Dickey, 69, of Oskaloosa died Sunday, September 26, 2021, at the MHP Hospital Emergency Room in Oskaloosa. She was born on February 13, 1952, in Albia, Iowa, the daughter of Carl and Edith Williams Benedict.

Jenny graduated from Oskaloosa High School with the class of 1970.

On April 24, 1971, she was united in marriage to Lyle Dickey at the Grace Lutheran Church in Oskaloosa. To this union a son Travis was born.

Jenny worked various places in Oskaloosa including Stapps Drug, Alsop’s Clothing, Wal-Mart, and Dairy Queen.

She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Oskaloosa. She enjoyed working crossword puzzles and watching sports.

Her family includes her husband of over 50 years, Lyle Dickey of Oskaloosa; a son and his wife, Travis and Bobbii Dickey of New Sharon; a granddaughter, Jaden Dickey; her sister, Jane (& Scot) Lewton of Des Moines; two brothers, Carl “Snook” Benedict of St. Augustine, Florida and James “Chip” Benedict; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, September 29, 2021, at 7:00 p.m. in the Bates Funeral chapel with Reverend Roger Neumann officiating.
As was Jenny’s wish her body has been cremated. The Bates Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
Visitation with the family present will be held on Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. until service time at 7:00 in the Bates Funeral Chapel.
Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
