Jekyll And Hyde Season Continues For Indians
by Jamie Brockman
The “Jekyll and Hyde” season as Coach Jay Harms says, continued Wednesday night as the Oskaloosa softball team hit the road and upset 11th ranked Norwalk 7-5.
Oskaloosa held a 7-1 lead heading into the bottom of the sixth inning, but Norwalk started a fierce comeback scoring four runs on seven hits in the final two innings before Osky slammed the door. Oskaloosa jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the second inning on four hits, including a two-RBI single from Meghan Moorman.
Oskaloosa scored three runs in the second inning, one run in the third, another in the fourth and two in the fifth on 10 total hits. Taylor Wills went 3-4 at the plate, Moorman was 2-4 and Kaylee Johnson was 2-4.
Hayle Hacker got the win improving her record to 12-8 this season. This was the second ranked opponent Oskaloosa has upset in the past couple weeks as they also beat D-C-G last week. Oskaloosa improved to 17-11 and 7-9 in LHC play. The Indians get a day off Thursday before heading to Pella for a doubleheader Friday starting at 5:30 pm.
