Jane Rodgers, 74, of Ankeny and formerly of Oskaloosa passed away Sunday, March 5, 2017, at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa. Shirley Jane Rodgers, daughter of Henry D. and Laura F. (Hanna) DeWitt, was born December 4, 1942, in Oskaloosa.

Jane was raised on her parent’s farm near Lacey and attended Lacey schools where she graduated in 1959.

Jane married Larry James Rodgers, February 3, 1961, at the Lacey United Methodist Church. They made their home in Oskaloosa and Jane went to work at Hy-Vee in the customer service department. She worked at Hy-Vee for 15 years, before going to work at Wal-Mart. In 1993, Jane and Larry moved to Port St. Lucy, Florida and she went to work in the lay-away department at the local Wal-Mart. After 11 years and two hurricanes, Jane and Larry returned to Iowa and settled in Ankeny. She again went to work at Wal-Mart, again in customer service and as a cashier.

Jane enjoyed playing cards. She lived a full life and loved having her family and friends near.

Her family includes her husband, Larry of Ankeny; a son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Norma Rodgers of Des Moines; four grandchildren and their spouses: Kristin (& Tim) Keegel, Kristine (& Sean) Linnan, Alan (& Jocelyn) Brincks, and Todd Bogard; and nine great-grandchildren: Taylor, Maddie, Case and Colt Keegel, Ezra, Ophelia and Paxton Linnan, and Carrick and Elizabeth Brincks.

In addition to her parents, Jane was preceded in death by a daughter, Tamie Lynn Bogard; a son, Larry Rodgers Jr.; four sisters; and a brother.

A visitation will be held for Jane beginning at 9 a.m., Wednesday morning, March 8, 2017, at Garland-Van Arkel-Langkamp Funeral Chapel; the family will be present from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Following the visitation her body will be cremated.
Private burial of her ashes will be in Forest Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
