Jamie Dee Siegrist, 39, of Hedrick, died Monday, October 31, 2022, at her home in Hedrick. She was born December 3, 1982, in Ottumwa, Iowa, the daughter of Jim and Donna Breuer Gerst.

Jamie graduated from Pekin High School with the class of 2001. Following high school she attended Eugene Bible College in Eugene, Oregon earning a bachelor’s degree in youth ministry, graduating with honors. Shortly after college, she moved back to Hedrick.

On August 11, 2012, she was married to Chris Siegrist of Coos Bay, Oregon, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa.

Jamie had a passion for children. She served as the director at Young House in Ottumwa and Fairfield for 12 years. Following her time there she went to work at Morrissey Property Management as their Office Manager. Last she worked in food service for Pekin Community School District, until her ill health forced her retirement.

Jamie enjoyed crocheting, listening to music, and had an appreciation for art. Jamie was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan. Most of all Jamie enjoyed being a Mom, Wife, and Aunt. She will be remembered for her kind spirit and her fierce loyalty to family and friends.

Her family includes her husband of over 10 years, Chris Siegrist of Hedrick; three sons: Eli Siegrist, Theo Siegrist, and Otto Siegrist; her parents, James and Donna Gerst of Hedrick; brothers and sisters: James (& JoAnn) Gerst, Jr. of Brownstown, Michigan, Gregory (& Kathy) Gerst of Mediapolis, Iowa, Robert (& Lamae) Gerst of Mt. Pleasant, Jason (& Jessica) Gerst of Cedar Rapids, Max (& Sandra) Loper of Chesterfield, Virginia, Lori (& Todd) Heckenberg of Mediapolis, Lee Mercer of Ursa, Illinios, and Linette (& Kendall) Crouch of Colorado Springs, Colorado; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Thomas Gerst and Douglas Gerst.

Funeral services will be held Friday, November 4, 2022, at 10:30 a.m. in the Northgate Alliance Church in Ottumwa with Reverends Jim Eschenbrenner and Paul Hughes officiating.
Burial will be in the Brooks Cemetery near Hedrick. The Fremont Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
Visitation will begin Thursday after 1:00 p.m. in the Northgate Alliance Church in Ottumwa and the family will be at the church from 5-7 Thursday evening to greet friends and relatives.
Memorials may be made to the family.
