James “Jim” Marion See, 53, of Oskaloosa, died Friday, June 7, 2019, at his home in Oskaloosa. He was born Saturday, July 3, 1965, in Grinnell, the son of Marion and Juanita Fields See.

Jim graduated from the Grinnell High School with the class of 1983.

Jim was united in marriage to Denise Carkhuff in 1984, to this union they were blessed with three children. They later separated.
On December 9, 1989 he was united in marriage to Judie Creps in the Presbyterian Church in Grinnell. To this union they were blessed with two children. Jim and Judie enjoyed over 29 years together, riding motorcycles, and going out to dinner.

Jim worked at Williamsburg Manufacturing before coming to Oskaloosa and working for Schwan’s Food Co. He later worked in the field of HVAC for Roe Heating and Cooling, where he worked until a back injury forced him into early retirement.

Jim enjoyed watching NASCAR, especially Dale Earnhardt Jr, camping, and working on his family’s vehicles. His real joy in life was spending time with his friends and family, especially his grandchildren.

His family includes his wife, Judie See of Oskaloosa; his children, Jenifer (& Justen) Rice of Oskaloosa, Leesa (& Brian) Westlund of Newton, James “Jimmy” See of Pleasantville, Stephanie See of Oskaloosa and Kellie (& Mikel) Hynick of Oskaloosa; his grandchildren, Akasha and Aries Rice, Kayden, Keagan and Korbin Westlund, Tytan Glick, and Huxton Hynick; his father, Marion See of University Park; a sister, Marsha Marchant of University Park; and his beloved dog, Carlie.

Jim is preceded in death by his mother, Juanita See; his maternal grandparents, Lola and Eddie Fields; and his fraternal grandparents, Lawrence and Bertha See.

A graveside service will be held Tuesday, June 11, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. in the Westfield Cemetery in Grinnell. The Bates Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
Visitation will begin Monday, June 10, 2019 after 12 noon in the Bates Funeral Chapel and the family will be at the chapel from 6 to 8 Monday evening to greet friends and relatives.
Memorials may be made to the family.
