Indians Topple Norwalk Tuesday Night

Oskaloosa Indians Volleyball sits atop the Little Hawkeye Conference with a 4-0 record after defeating #13 ranked Norwalk.

The 15th ranked Oskaloosa Volleyball team stayed hot with a 3-2 win over 13th ranked Norwalk in front of an energized Homecoming crowd at the Oskaloosa Gym Tuesday night.

The win improved the Indians to 10-7 on the season and 4-0 in the Little Hawkeye Conference. Norwalk won the first set 25-23, and Oskaloosa took the next two sets 25-18 and 25-23. Norwalk won the fourth set 25-16 forcing a fifth and decisive set which Oskaloosa won 15-9.

Faith DeRonde led the offense with 20 kills, Taylor Wills added 12, but Jessica Schlesselman stepped up bi adding 11 kills. Meghan Moorman, Wills and Mary Nelson each had an ace serve.

This marks the second-ranked conference opponent Osky has beaten at home in a thrilling five-setter as two weeks ago they upset then 5th ranked DC-G.

Afterward, Indians Head Coach Jenifer Comfort said the girls stuck to their guns and played really good volleyball the whole night. “ They made the adjustments they needed to, and I was really proud of them for that.”
